4 arrested following attempted robbery on trail in Gatineau, Que.

Gatineau police say four people have been charged following an attempted robbery over the weekend.

According to police, the victim was attacked by four people while on the Ruisseau-de-la-Brasserie trail in the Hull sector at around 4:45 p.m. Sunday. The suspects attempted to steal the person’s bag. During the struggle, the victim was stabbed in the hand.

The suspects ran away without the bag and were arrested a short time later, police said.

During the investigation, police searched a tent near Morin Street to gather evidence.

The four accused are each facing charges of robbery, assault with a weapon and uttering threats. Two of them, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, are also each facing charges of failure to comply with a court order.
