Police in western Quebec say four people are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with a homicide north of Gatineau last December.
Sûreté du Québec police found a woman dead inside a home in Val-des-Monts on Chemin des Cerisiers on Dec. 1, 2024. A man at the scene was also transported to hospital with serious injuries.
In an email Wednesday, provincial police confirmed Louis Charron, 35, Sylvain Trépanier, 47, Alexandre Paré, 30, and Éric Trudel, 52, are each facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the woman’s death.
Police did not identify her age or name.
Officers had previously arrested three of the suspects, though no murder charges had been laid.
Trépanier and Paré were initially charged with two counts of forcible confinement and one count of assault. Trudel was initially charged with kidnapping and assault.
All four suspects appeared in court on March 28.
