Bells Corners shooting seriously injures man

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a shooting in Bells Corners Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they responded to calls of shots fired in the 100 block of Bexley Place, near Robertson and Stafford roads just before 4:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, police add.

Ottawa paramedics say the man was seriously injured and taken to hospital in non-life threatening condition.

Police say there is no risk to public safety.

It comes after a shooting in Nepean over the weekend that left a 20-year-old man dead and another with serious injuries.
