Police have closed a portion of Highway 417 in North Glengarry after a single-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon. Ontario Provincial Police said in a post on X shortly before 5 p.m. that it closed the eastbound lanes of the highway in the area of County Road 20 near St. Isidore. An OPP spokesperson tells CTV News Ottawa that at least two people have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are unknown at this time. “The investigation is in its early stages, and officers are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” OPP Const. Erin Cranton said in an email. It’s unclear when the highway might reopen. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area and plan alternate routes.
