Ottawa firefighters contained a fire at a public school in the Meadowlands area on Saturday. According to a news release from Ottawa Fire Services, crews were alerted that smoke alarms had been activated at St. Gregory Catholic School on Meadowlands Drive West shortly after noon. Firefighters arrived to find smoke in the building’s main hallway. By 12:15 p.m., firefighters had the fire under control. Ottawa paramedics say they were called off from attending the scene as there were no injuries. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage is unclear.
