A Gatineau man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a bus driver with the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) on Tuesday evening.
Gatineau police say officers were called to the intersection of Rue Laurier and Boulevard Sacré-Coeur near the MacDonald-Cartier Bridge shortly before 10 p.m.
The suspect had already left the scene when officers arrived, but he was quickly located in the same area following information provided by witnesses, police said in an email.
The 35-year-old suspect was taken into custody and remained detained until his scheduled appearance in court on Wednesday.
The man faces charges of making threats, armed attack, mischief, failure to comply with a court order, disturbing the peace and simple possession.
Police did not provide information on the bus driver’s injuries.
