Man seriously injured after T-bone crash in Ottawa’s south end

Ottawa paramedics say a man suffered serious injuries after a three-car crash at an intersection in the city’s rural south end Monday afternoon.

In a news release, the Ottawa Fire Services say they received a call from police reporting a T-bone collision at Parkway and 9th Line roads at approximately 4 p.m.

On arrival, fire crews found one occupant was trapped inside a vehicle who required extrication.

Firefighters used specialized tools to safely remove the person from the vehicle in about seven minutes.

Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps tells CTV News Ottawa that first responders treated an adult male with non-life threatening injuries.

He was transported to hospital by ambulance in serious but stable condition.

Firefighters spread absorbent on the leaking fluids and disconnected batteries before clearing the scene.

A crash at the same intersection late last week left five people with serious injuries, including three children, after an SUV and a dump truck collided.
