OPP find open bottle of vodka in tractor trailer in South Glengarry, charge driver

A driver from Scarborough has been charged with several offences after an open bottle of vodka was found inside a broken down tractor trailer on Boundary Road in South Glengarry Friday afternoon, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Provincial transport officers and OPP members responded to a broken down trailer on the road near Highway 401 shortly after 3 p.m.

They found an open bottle of alcohol in the cab of the truck.

“A roadside screening device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for testing,” the OPP said in a post on X.

He was charged with impaired driving and other charges, police say. They did not specify the other charges.

The 54-year-old was released and is scheduled to appear in court on March 25.
