A driver was issued a $110 fine for not cleaning off the snow before hitting Highway 417 Wednesday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Police say they were responding to a stalled vehicle on the highway at Rochester Street, when the driver had to hit the brakes quickly, causing the accumulated snow to fall onto the windshield.

Though it did not cause a crash, police say, the incident resulted in congested traffic.

The fine was issued for depositing snow on the roadway, police add.
