Ontario Provincial Police say dozens of charges for speeding or not using a seatbelt in Grenville County, south of Ottawa, over the Easter weekend.
Police conducted checks Sunday that resulted in 54 charges, the OPP said in a post on X.

“Long weekends tend to bring an increase in vehicle traffic as everyone sets out for family gatherings. Do your part to make Ontario roads safer – buckle up, slow down, and always drive sober,” police said.
The OPP announced last week that officers would be out on highways and other OPP-patrolled roads across the province, with an emphasis on seatbelt use.
Hitting the road without fastening your seatbelt can lead to a $240 ticket and two demerit points, says the OPP.
