The Ottawa Police Service is asking the public for help identifying a man involved in an alleged assault during a demonstration downtown on March 29.
Shortly after 3 p.m., police received a call reporting an assault by a man participating in a planned protest in the area of William and Rideau streets, police say.
A police spokesperson told CTV News Ottawa Wednesday the suspect assaulted one person. Police did not provide information on whether the victim was participating in the protest.
Police did not provide information about the nature of the protest.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as dark-skinned, under six-foot tall, with brown eyes. At the time the incident happened, he was wearing a green tuque with white stripes, a black jacket and black face mask. The suspect was also seen using a megaphone.
