Ottawa Senators to play pre-season games in Quebec City

The Ottawa Senators will be heading to Quebec City as part of their training camp ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Senators owner Michael Andlauer announced Monday the team will be playing two pre-season games at the Videotron Centre. Ottawa will take on the New Jersey Devils on Sept. 28 and the Montreal Canadiens on Sept. 30.

The team will be taking part in several team building activities ahead of the regular season, as well as several public practices and community initiatives during their four-day stay in Quebec’s capital.

“In addition to playing two games in front of passionate fans, this short trip will allow our players to spend a few days in a beautiful city as they put the finishing touches on their preparations for a new season,” Andlauer said in a news release.

No public money will be used to stage the pre-season games, according to Martin Tremblay, the chief operating officer for Quebecor, which operates the Videotron Centre.

“We can’t wait to get in front of the Quebec City crowd for a portion of our training camp,” said Senators president and CEO Cyril Leeder in the release.

“Quebec City was the obvious destination, and we’re very excited to see our players in action on the ice at Videotron Centre.”
