Ottawa to see 4-6 cm of snow tonight and Thursday

Some relief from the -20 C weather is on the way for Ottawa, along with 4 to 6 centimetres of snow on Thursday.

The temperature was -19.4 C at 6 a.m., with the wind chill making it feel like -27.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for an end of the -20 C weather with lows of -13 C Wednesday and -16 C Thursday, before warmer than normal temperatures arrive on the weekend.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -6 C and a low of -15 C

Ottawa will see a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -12 C, with the wind chill making it feel like -20 this afternoon.

It will be mainly cloudy this evening with flurries beginning near midnight. Ottawa will see 2 cm of snow, according to Environment Canada. Low -13 C.

Flurries on Thursday. Amount 2 to 4 cm. High -7 C.

Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. High -8 C.

The outlook for Saturday calls for cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -5 C.

Sunday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. High -4 C.
