A new indoor playground and supermarket could be coming to Ottawa’s west end, as part of a plan to build a new commercial plaza near the Tanger Outlets.
Markham-based Sunny Group has filed an application with the City of Ottawa to build a new. 85,000 sq. ft. shopping centre on Palladium Drive, consisting of four commercial buildings with 237 parking spaces.
“The proposed development is a large commercial plaza that consists of a commercial complex including a grocery store, an indoor playground, and multiple tenant spaces and three retail buildings with multiple commercial units,” says the site plan control application summary.

According to the plans, the grocery store would be a Sunny Foodmart. Sunny Group operates Sunny Foodmart, a multicultural grocery store chain with locations in the Toronto area.
The mall would connect to Campeau Drive via Kanata West Centre Drive and to Palladium Drive via Cabela’s Way.
Tanger Outlets is located further east of the property along Campeau Drive and there is vacant land to the west of the property.
The new indoor playground would be the second amusement park to open in the west end.
Earlier this week, the owner of Hazeldean Mall filed an application with the city to open an amusement park in the Kanata mall.
