Ontario Provincial Police are seeking a person of interest in an alleged assault north of Belleville Monday.
Police say two people were taken to hospital, including one with serious injuries, in the incident on Wellington Street in Madoc in the Municipality of Centre Hastings.
“The attacker had fled the scene prior to the arrival of police,” police said in a post on social media.
An arrest warrant was issued for a 44-year-old man of Centre Hastings for charges of aggravated assault, two counts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm, theft and failing to comply with a probation order.
He is described as approximately 6-foot-1 (165 cm) tall, with a thin build, brown hair, and brown eyes.
