Water levels are gradually increasing along the Ottawa River and minor flooding in low-lying areas is expected over the next week, according to the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board.

“Levels and flows will continue to increase gradually over the next few days due to increased spring runoff,” the board said in a statement. “Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur over the coming week. Low-lying areas (such as recreational trails near water) are those locations that regularly flood during the spring freshet period.”
