Transport truck driver charged with impaired driving after complaints about poor driving near Carleton Place: OPP

A transport truck driver is facing impaired driving charges after police responded to complaints from the public about poor driving on a highway near Carleton Place.

Ontario Provincial Police officers stopped the truck on Tatlock Road, in Mississippi Mills Township, just after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say they received complaints of poor driving involving a transport truck on Highway 7.

“The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the Carleton Place Detachment for testing,” the OPP said.

Police say a 48-year-old man from Woodstock is facing charges of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired – alcohol. The driver is also facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence and Cannabis Act.

The driver’s licence has also been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
