A driver and a company were issued a total of nine tickets after being caught tailgating a tractor trailer on Highway 401 in eastern Ontario Friday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Police say when officers saw the truck eastbound of the highway at Gananoque, they stopped the driver and “escorted the truck to the nearby MTO scales.”
That was when police found that it was overweight, had no safety inspection and no registration.
Police note that the driver had no insurance and no training.
In addition to the tickets, the driver and the company are scheduled to appear in court at an unspecified date.
