Westbound Hwy. 417 at Metcalfe St. reopens after multi-vehicle crash

Police have reopened the westbound lanes of Highway 417 in Ottawa on Saturday evening following a multi-vehicle crash.

Emergency services closed the highway between Metcalfe Street and Bronson Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The highway had reopened by approximately 9 p.m., according to a post to social media by Ottawa police.

Ottawa paramedics say four people were assessed on scene. Two adults were taken to hospital with minor injuries, a spokesperson said.

Traffic cameras showed significant backups along the Queensway while the road was closed.
