A youth is facing charges in connection to a Friday night assault at Bayshore Shopping Centre in Ottawa’s west end.
Emergency crews responded to a call for a disturbance at a parking lot in the 100 block of Bayshore Drive just after 6 p.m. Friday, according to the Ottawa Police Services.
Police say officers located a youth with serious injuries “from an edged weapon.”
The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.
A youth was arrested by officers at the scene.
On Monday, police said the youth, who cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing charges of assault, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
