Winter continues its attempts to hang around Ottawa today, with cold temperatures this morning and 2 cm of snow expected tonight.
However, spring-like temperatures are expected to arrive in Ottawa over the weekend.
The temperature was -8.7 C at 6 a.m., with the wind chill making it feel like -13.
Environment Canada’s forecast calls for temperatures to warm up to 6 C today, 9 C on Saturday and 13 C on Sunday.
There will be a mix of sun and cloud today. High 6 C.
Cloudy tonight with periods of snow beginning near midnight. Environment Canada says Ottawa will see 2 cm of snow. Low 0 C.
The snow is expected to begin between 11 p.m. and 12 a.m.
This will be the second snowfall in Ottawa this week, after 15 cm of snow blanketed Ottawa Monday night and Tuesday.
Friday will be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers. High 6 C.
The outlook for Saturday calls for mainly cloudy with a high 9 C.
Sunday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High 13 C.
The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 10 C and a low of 0 C.
