The City of Regina is beginning to sweep residential streets – with plans to clean more than 1,000 kilometres of neighbourhood streets.

According to the city, residential street sweeping will take place Monday to Friday from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. over a six-week period, weather permitting.

The city says residents can download its Sweep&Plow App to find out when their street will be swept.

Bright orange signs at the main entrances of neighbourhoods will also alert people that crews are working in the area.

“When crews are in an area, residents are requested to move vehicles off the street to allow crews to clear the whole roadway. Residents are encouraged to offer to share driveways on sweep day,” the city said in a news release.

Residents are also being reminded that street sweepers can create dusty conditions that reduce visibility.

People are advised to close windows and walk on alternative sidewalks when sweepers are operating nearby.
