Court date set for 3 people charged in connection with ‘Kingdom of Canada’ investigation

WATCH: Three more people are facing charges in connection to an RCMP investigation in Richmound, Sask.

Three additional people face charges in connection with an RCMP investigation in Richmound, Sask. that led to a series of arrests in early September at the self-proclaimed ‘Queen of Canada’ compound.

Romana Didulo and several of her supporters had been living the former Richmound school building, now privately owned, since 2023.

On Sept. 3, RCMP arrested 16 people in Richmound, including three people who have now been identified: 72-year-old Lise Beauchamp, 37-year-old Melony Vanden Brink and 63-year-old Nancy Jancke. Police say the three individuals did not provide their names or dates of birth to arresting officers upon request.

The trio were charged with one count each of obstruction of a peace officer. They’ll appear in court in Leader, Sask. in November.

Police conducted the search over a report of an individual with a firearm and found four imitation handguns during a preliminary investigation. Further investigation led to the discovery and seizure of 13 imitation semi-automatic handguns, ammunition, as well as a large number of electronic handguns.

Didulo herself, along with the owner of the decommissioned school, Ricky Manz, were both released then re-arrested on separate charges following the search.

Didulo was granted bail Sept. 8 with a list of conditions that include her being barred from being within 50 kilometres of Richmound, no direct or indirect contact with Manz and no communicating through the group’s “Kingdom of Canada” website.

She is scheduled to make another court appearance for a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Swift Current.

In Richmound, the compound has been deemed unsafe for human habitation by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
