Driver taken hospital following snowplow crash near Whitewood, Sask.

A driver is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a snowplow encountered trouble on Highway 1 west of the community of Whitewood on Wednesday.

Members of the Whitewood Fire Department shared details of the crash on social media.

At around 10:15 a.m. on April 23, paramedics and members of Broadview RCMP were dispatched to the single vehicle crash three miles west of Whitewood. According to the service, the eastbound snowplow was clearing the highway’s passing lane when it dug into the pavement.

The truck was then forced across the road into the ditch of the driving lane. The driver was taken hospital for examination and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was restricted in the eastbound lane until the scene was cleared up.

Whitewood Fire units were back in service by 11:40 a.m., according to the service.
