Farm equipment the cause of damages at overpass northwest of Regina

The Regina Bypass team is beginning work to reinforce the Highway 11 bridge after it was damaged by farm equipment.

An overpass northwest of Regina on Highway 11 is getting some repair work done following damages by farm equipment last year.

Drivers will notice some construction work where Highway 11 meets the Regina Bypass.

The Regina Bypass says the bridge is being repaired with no additional costs to Saskatchewan taxpayers, as part of an agreement with the Ministry of Highways.

Preliminary work to re-enforce the bridge was expected to begin in early May, with the project expected to be completed by late fall, weather permitting.

Phase 1 of the project involves creating a cross over to divert drivers to single lane traffic.

During the project, drivers will experience temporary speed reductions and lane closures.

“The Regina Bypass team is committed to maintaining safe roadways, including ensuring public safety through smooth transitions on and off the highway. The patience and understanding of all motorists is appreciated as this work occurs,” a news release dated May 1 read.
