A group of four youths are facing criminal charges, including attempted murder, following an assault with a knife in Regina’s south end.
On the evening of Monday, March 3, Regina police responded to the 2900 block of Gordon Road for a reported weapons offence.
Officers were dispatched after learning that two people were assaulted with a bladed weapon before the suspects fled the scene.
Police found the victims, who were both suffering from injuries consistent with knife wounds.
The pair were transported to hospital with what police describe as serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were able to gain suspect descriptions from a witness. A short time later, officers located five people who matched the suspect descriptions.
The following morning, officers found the sixth and final suspect.
As a result of the investigation, four people have been charged.
One 16-year-old, two 15-year-olds, and a 14-year-old were jointly charged with two counts of attempted murder.
The 14-year-old was also charged with failure to comply with a disposition.
The 16-year-old youth was additionally charged with two counts of failure to comply with a disposition and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
The accused made their first appearance on their charges in provincial youth court Tuesday afternoon.
