The Saskatchewan Music Awards recognized some of the province’s most talented artists on Sunday evening. Hosted at the Regina Performing Arts Centre, the Sask. music community gathered together for an evening of performances and recognition.
Jess Moskaluke took home two awards, including Country Artist of the Year and Single of the Year. Ella Forrest took home the title of Album of the Year, thanks to her release “Butterflies.”
Awards in 21 categories were presented to artists from across the province.
According to the SMA website, the winners were determined by music industry jurors, and peers from across Canada, with public voting contributing to the categories of Album of the Year, Industry Achievement, Music Company or Organization of the year and Venue or Festival of the Year.
Teagan Littlechief was awarded the Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year title, and Erroll Kinistino received the award for Indigenous Music Achievement Award.
Other winners included Tim Damage for Electronic Artist of the year, HarveyDent for Hip Hop Artist of the year, Beau Nectar for Pop Artist of the year, Katie Tupper for R & B Artist of the year, and Dump Babes for Rock Artist of the year.
The 2025 awards marked seven years of the SMAs and according to the organization, Sunday night saw a full house to catch the festivities.
