No charges laid after lighter mistaken for gun during incident in east Regina

The Regina Police Service (RPS) has offered details after officers were spotted responding to a restaurant in east Regina.

In a statement to CTV News, RPS said officers were called to a business on the North Service Road near the 900 block of Victoria Ave at around 9:40 a.m. Thursday.

Police were notified that a man had brought a firearm into a restaurant.

Officers arrived and found the suspect. However, what was originally thought to be a gun turned out to be a lighter.

No charges were laid in connection to the incident.
