Advance polls in Saskatchewan saw much more use this time around, compared to the 2021 federal election, as voters flocked to cast their ballot ahead of April 28.
Figures released by Elections Canada on Wednesday show after four days of advance voting, 206,754 ballots were cast in Saskatchewan, compared to 183,898 in 2021.
According to Elections Canada, in Saskatchewan there are approximately 822,867 eligible voters for 2025, an increase from 814,524 for the 44th federal election in 2021.
Elections Canada noted the advance voting numbers for this election are not final until all votes are counted and validated on election day.
In Canada, there was a record turnout of 7,280,975 advance ballots cast, compared to 5,852,391 in the 2021 election.
Advance polls were open around the province from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21.
Election day is set for Monday, April 28.
