Tornado reported Viceroy, Sask. marks province’s 7th of 2026

The Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) has confirmed the province’s seventh tornado of the year.

A landspout tornado, with a rating of EF0, reportedly touched down near the community of Viceroy, Sask. Thursday afternoon.

A witness in the area captured photos of the storm northwest of the community. However, no damage was reported. NTP went on to say its review of satellite imagery of the area is pending.

Viceroy is located around 150 kilometres southwest of Regina.

Of the tornadoes reported so far in Saskatchewan this year, three have been rated EF0, three have been rated EF1, while the North Portal/Oxbow tornado on June 9 was rated an EF3 – the first since 2010.
