The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian defensive back and University of Regina alumnus Tevaughn Campbell, who had spent the past six seasons in the NFL.

Campbell was a member of the Riders in 2016 and played for Montreal in 2017 and 2018. In January 2019, he signed with the New York Jets before joining the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice roster.

Campbell went on to appear in 30 games for the Chargers, making 11 starts.

He recorded 63 defensive tackles, seven pass deflections, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery that was returned 61 yards for a touchdown and one pick-six.

Campbell was released by the Chargers in 2022 after sustaining an injury and then signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, appearing in seven games between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

The 31-year-old was drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the third round (22nd overall) of the 2015 CFL Draft. He played three seasons with the University of Regina Rams (2011, 2013 and 2014).
