The leaders of the federal Liberals and New Democrats are scheduled to visit Saskatoon Wednesday – as the election campaign nears its halfway point.

Coming off an announcement in Vancouver and at a speaking engagement at the First Nations Summit – NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will head to Saskatoon for a campaign event at 7:30 p.m.

After making an announcement and meeting with young supporters in Calgary, Liberal Leader Mark Carney is set to hold a campaign event in Saskatoon at 4:30 p.m.

Saskatchewan has effectively acted as a Conservative stronghold in recent years – its 14 seats representing a sea of blue.

Recent polling suggests the Tories are likely to maintain their dominance in the land of the living skies – though some races are expected to be more competitive.

The federal election will be held April 28.
