Man in custody following stabbing incident in Prince Albert

A 19-year-old man is in custody after a stabbing incident in Prince Albert on Thursday morning.

Police responded to an unknown 911 call in the 700 block of 18th Street West at around 9 a.m. and learned two men had been in a fight, resulting in one being stabbed.

Police say the victim was transported to Victoria Hospital with injuries consistent with a stab wound.

After attending the hospital, officers learned that the victim and suspect knew each other and were in a nearby home together when an argument ensued. The suspect stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.

Later that day, police arrested the 19-year-old suspect in the 700 block of 18th Street West. He has been charged with aggravated assault.
