Yorkton escapee captured in Prince Albert following month-long search

A man who escaped from custody in Yorkton has been arrested in Prince Albert after more than a month on the run.

According to Prince Albert Police, 35-year-old Jefferson Jobb was arrested on Thursday at a home in the 1600 block of 13th Street West.

He escaped from the Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre in Yorkton on March 10. Police say they later learned he was living at the Prince Albert home.

In April, police determined Jobb had returned to the home and was believed to be in possession of a firearm.

On Thursday, police obtained a search warrant for the residence. Seven people, including Jobb, exited the home and were taken into custody without incident. Police say one youth was placed in the care of Social Services.

During the search, officers seized a semi-automatic sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, 30 grams of cocaine, and two air-powered handguns.

Jobb and 39-year-old Timothy Iron have been charged with several firearms-related offences.

Jobb also faces a charge of possession of cocaine, along with charges related to escaping custody.

He made his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday.
