CTV Kitchener: Ti-Cats declawed in Regina The Hamilton Tiger-Cats' surprising playoff run ended with a Grey Cup loss to the hometown Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders captured their fourth Grey Cup in franchise history, and the first on their home field, with a 45-23 blowout of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Rider Nation was into the party mood well before halftime, with Saskatchewan outscoring the Ticats 24-3 in the second quarter while taking a 31-6 lead at the intermission.  Darian Durant hit Geroy Simon with touchdown passes of 15 and 42 yards in the opening half, while Jock Sanders ran in from the three, and Kory Sheets from the one.

Sheets had a record-setting day, rushing for a Grey Cup record 197 yards on 20 carries, breaking the mark of 169 set by Edmonton's Johnny Bright in 1956.  Sheets, who was named the game's M-V-P, scored his second touchdown on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Saskatchewan slotback Chris Getzlaf, who caught three passes for 78 yards, was named the most valuable Canadian.

This is the third year in a row that the Grey Cup host has won the big game.  Next year's Grey Cup will be played at BC Place.
