Amendola tells CTV News that he has always liked older homes and had initially hoped to preserve the interior of the residence but was unable to due to its poor condition at the time. "My preference would have been that this would be a beautiful original time capsule Tudor that I could have preserved, but that just wasn't the case." said Amendola.(Simon Tingle)

"This house had gone through a number of owners and, through the years, most of the original interior elements were gone," Amendola said. "I think that we have a duty to kind of try to respect homes like this, keep them as authentic as you can." (Simon Tingle)

Amendola described the exterior as a 'beautiful time capsule." He said that "the roof structure was hand carved by a master wood carver to mimic what would have been done back at the time the house was built."
