A man and a woman are facing multiple charges after police seized a variety of stolen property – including motorcycles and farm equipment – in the B.C. Interior last week.

Mounties seized the two vehicles and the unspecified equipment, along with “stolen construction material,” a firearm and ammunition, from a home on Road 15 in Oliver on April 15, according to a news release from Oliver RCMP.

The local detachment, the B.C. RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and B.C. RCMP Police Dog Services collaborated to execute a search warrant on the residence, which police said is “well known” to them.

Two residents of the property – 48-year-old David James O’Brien and 36-year-old Yanni Gagnon – have been charged with possession of stolen property, police said. O’Brien has also been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition while prohibited.

Online court records show the charges were laid April 17, and each person is accused of two counts of possession of stolen property.

O’Brien is listed as in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for Monday, April 28, in Kelowna.

Gagnon has been released from custody and is scheduled to make her next appearance in Penticton provincial court on June 4.
