Car lands on median after Burnaby crash, occupants flee on foot: police

A driver crashed and landed on a roadside barrier in Burnaby before leaving their car and fleeing on foot late Thursday night, police said.

Photos posted on Reddit showed a white sedan on Hastings Street near Delta Avenue, positioned in the median atop a concrete barrier.

Burnaby RCMP told CTV News that officers were called to the Capitol Hill area at 11:48 p.m. with reports of a single-car collision in which its occupants fled on foot.

The Burnaby Fire Department attended the scene, but no injuries were reported at the time, according to police.

The median and vehicle were damaged in the crash, and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.

Burnaby RCMP add that the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
