Stratford police lay drug trafficking charges after lengthy investigation

Stratford police have laid a slew of drug trafficking charges after nearly $40 thousand in controlled substances were seized during a months-long investigation.

Police began investigating what they dubbed ‘Project Carlos,’ an investigation into the trafficking of controlled substances in the City of Stratford, in the spring of 2026.

Police say five people have been arrested since the investigation began in April.

A 37-year-old man from London, a 32-year-old woman from Stratford, and a 53-year-old man from Stratford were arrested by Stratford police April 27 for allegedly possessing controlled substances.

The London man was also required to wear an ankle monitor. However, police say he removed the ankle monitor June 9, and his location is unknown. He remains wanted by police.

Police made another arrest July 7 when officers determined that the drugs were being supplied by a 44-year-old London man.

Later that day, London police searched three residences and arrested a fifth person, a 45-year-old London woman.

In total, police seized:

• 534.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine
• 11.2 grams of fentanyl
• 20.7 grams of cocaine
• six grams of crack cocaine
• 271 X 4mg hydromorphone pills
• 43 X 30mg codeine pills
• 38 X 0.5mg clonazepam pills
• A crossbow with arrows
• A replica handgun (BB pistol)
• $9,535 Canadian currency

In total, the street value of controlled substances seized over the course of the investigation is $37,634.
