A man from Ontario is in custody after a Delta police officer witnessed drugs being sold out of an illegally parked vehicle, according to police.
The alleged “drug transaction” happened when on March 26 on 8A Avenue near 52 Street in Tsawwassen, according to a news release form the department.
“The officer conducted a vehicle stop and observed multiple additional indicators that the driver was trafficking controlled drugs,” the statement said.
“The driver was arrested. A search of the car and the driver located a large amount of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cash, weapons, jerry cans of gasoline, and a balaclava.”
The 20-year-old suspect has been released from custody while the investigation continues. Authorities say they will recommend charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
