Police in Victoria are appealing for information after a man was stabbed by an “unknown female” in an apparent random attack.
Paramedics found the victim in a parkade near the intersection of Blanshard and Herald streets around 6 a.m. Wednesday, the Victoria Police Department said in a news release.
“The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital,” the statement said. “Through the ongoing investigation, officers believe the stabbing was a random assault.”
VicPD said investigators believe the man was stabbed around noon on Tuesday behind the Odeon theatre on Johnson Street.
The suspect is described as a white woman in her early 20s, standing 5’4” tall. At the time of the alleged stabbing, she was wearing black clothes and a “pink hair wrap,” according to police.
“Given the random nature of the assault, police are advising the public to exercise caution in the area,” VicPD said.
