A lost hiker has been found dead on a North Vancouver mountain after a search and rescue effort Saturday.
At 9:40 a.m., North Shore Rescue said in a social media post searchers were responding to a call regarding a hiker on Mount Seymour.
In a brief statement later in the afternoon, the North Vancouver RCMP said the individual had been found deceased.
“Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of the hiker,” police wrote.
The department said it would not provide further information at this time, citing privacy reasons.
