Man dead following rollover crash on Delta highway

A man has died following a crash on B.C.’s Highway 99 Sunday evening.

Police were called to a single-vehicle crash near the Highway 17 southbound exit, in Delta, shortly after 7 p.m., the Delta Police Department said in a statement Monday afternoon.

A white Dodge Ram pickup truck had collided with the highway’s crash cushion and rolled onto its roof, said police. Its driver, a 40-year-old-man from Alberta, died at the scene.

In a statement Monday morning, the BCEHS said three ambulances had attended the incident, but nobody was transported to hospital

The nearby exits on Highway 99 were closed for several hours while crews investigated, but have since reopened.
