A man was shot and seriously injured while in a vehicle outside a home in Surrey early Sunday morning, according to authorities. Officers were called to the scene in the 14500 block of 75 Avenue just after 12:30 a.m., the Surrey Police Service said in a statement. “Frontline officers immediately went to the residence, where they located an adult male who had been struck by gunfire while in his vehicle outside the residence,” the statement said. “Officers applied emergency medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to hospital with reportedly serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.” Police pulled over a vehicle in the area and arrested the driver, police added. He remains in custody but has not been charged. “At this early stage the shooting is thought to be targeted, and it is not believed to be extortion related,” the statement from the SPS said.
