A man has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault investigation regarding a sports teacher in North Vancouver.

North Vancouver RCMP received a report Dec. 22 that a youth had allegedly been sexually assaulted by a volleyball coach, Mounties said in a release issued Thursday.

A 50-year-old man was arrested April 3 following a police investigation, and has since been released with a number of conditions, pending further investigation and charge approval, Mounties said.

“This is an ongoing, complex investigation involving allegations of sexual assaults that occurred over a period of several years,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak.

“The top priority for investigators is to speak with anyone with information that has not yet come forward, to gather all available evidence and to support those impacted throughout this process.”

Anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation, or who wishes to make a report, is advised to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 236-481-9100.
