Police in Nanaimo are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man linked to an alleged incident of voyeurism at a local swimming centre.
Staff at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre at 741 Third Avenue notified police March 3 that a camera had been found installed in the door of one of its changing rooms, Const. Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP said in a statement Monday afternoon.
According to O’Brien, two men were seen in the video – one who has since been identified.
The other, shown in the images above and described by police as a white man in his mid-20s with short, black hair, is being sought in relation to the investigation.
O’Brien said the images of both men were captured Saturday, Jan. 18. There were no images of children on the video recorded on that day, Mounties added.
Anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation or of the identity of the unknown person is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
