Police seek witnesses to weekend vandalism at Vancouver Sikh temple

Published:

The Vancouver Police Department have released images taken from the area where the vandalism took place.

Police are seeking two witnesses who may have information on an act of vandalism that occurred at a Sikh temple in south Vancouver Saturday morning.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, graffiti in both English and Punjabi was spray-painted onto the outside walls of the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara, near Ross Street and Marine Drive, between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police have obtained images of a white pickup truck and two people in the area who may have information relating to the incident.

Police say the truck drove through the area around the time of the offence before two people, believed to be associated with the truck, walked near the front entrance of the temple.

One person was wearing a yellow cap, yellow jacket, and black pants, while the other was wearing a grey hoodie with black pants.

“We believe these people may have information about this crime and what the motivation was,” said Addison.

“We ask anyone who recognizes the people in these pictures, or the vehicle, to come forward and speak with our investigators.”

Anyone who may know the suspects or have relevant information regarding the incident is asked to call VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
