Richmond RCMP seek 7 suspects after $2,400 fragrance theft

Seven suspects made off with $2,400 worth of perfume and cologne after a targeted theft at a Richmond business that lasted just one minute, according to authorities, who are now appealing for information in the case from last year.

Officers were called to the 3800 block of Steveston Highway on Nov. 11 at 7:45 p.m., the Richmond RCMP said in a news release Monday. Mounties did not name the business but there is a Shoppers Drug Mart on that block.

“The complainant advised seven unidentified individuals had entered the store and allegedly stole over $ 2400.00 worth of fragrances. The complainant stated the individuals entered and exited within one minute, only targeting fragrances within the makeup department,” the statement from the detachment said.

“Richmond RCMP frontline attended but all seven suspects were gone prior to police arrival.”

All of the suspects are described as males, between 16 and 20 years old, all were wearing sweaters or jackets with the hoods up and several were wearing masks.
