Mounties in Richmond are appealing for witnesses and information after an alleged robbery at a busy intersection last week.
A patrol officer was flagged down on April 8 by a man who said he had been robbed around 6 p.m. at the corner of Shell Road and Alderbridge Way, according to a news release from the Richmond RCMP.
The man told police he was rear-ended by someone driving a blue Chevy Silverado with Alberta plates, that statement from the detachment said.
“The victim said as he was exiting his vehicle, the other driver exited the truck and allegedly threatened him before punching him in the face,” according to the RCMP.
“The victim advised he took out his phone to start filming the interaction but the suspect took it from him and then left in his truck.”
The suspect is described as a white man standing 6’3” who was wearing a baseball hat and spoke with a British accent.
Given that the alleged robbery happened in a high-traffic area during the evening rush, Mounties believe there may be witnesses or drivers who captured the incident on dash-cam video.
