A section of Highway 99 in South Surrey was closed in both directions Friday evening due to a crash involving a semi-truck and trailer, a bus and multiple vehicles, according to local police. The Surrey Police Service said the crash happened just east of the Highway 99 and Highway 91 interchange, and confirmed firefighters and B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics were on scene just after 5:30 p.m. The SPS said it had no information on the type of bus, whether it was carrying passengers, or if anyone was seriously injured. “It is likely that parts of the highway will be closed for several hours as police investigate, gather evidence, and the scene is cleaned up,” Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said, in a statement. Police said to expect updates not to come until late Friday night or Saturday. CTV has reached out to BCEHS for more information on the incident.
